Thor Kettlebell Series 55

This is a truly challenging piece of equipment. The hand position makes swings more challenging, and cleans fun. Where KBs can land kind of heavy on the back of your wrist, the hammer does not. However... you had better be prepared to either land it on your shoulder or bring it in front of your face and catch it with two hands. Working out regularly with a 60lb KB, I thought transitioning to the hammer would not be too difficult. And then it put me in my place. For every exercise with a comparable weight KB, this thing is harder. For some, like a one-handed press, the difficulty is exponentially greater. I only got it up with a very pushy push-press. (If you screw up or get too tired, be ready to get out from under it.) If you want to be able to perform some things you do with a KB immediately and without modification, you'll need to go with a lower weight hammer. That being said, I'm glad I got the 55 because it makes everything challenging, and leaves plenty of room to work into the exercises that feel nearly impossible. My other pieces of equipment are primarily maces, clubs, and sandbags, and this is a perfect addition. It is worth every penny.

Ordered in March, got them at the end of May. Worth the wait. "power snatches, various swings, cleans and jerks, Thrusters, power cleans" as described where A LOT harder to do with this kettlebell than what I can routinely do with heavier weight with regular kettlebells, barbells, dumb bells etc. When I took the the kettle bell out I was excited and went to power clean it and I could not make the lift, I was blown away. By the end of the day I can do all those movements after practice and building some confidence with this thing, but wow it is a lot harder than what I am used to. I bought these as a novelty, to say to friends when they come over "hey are you worthy" but after lifting with them I am sure they are going to make me stronger. Very happy. I am 6'1 200 pounds, make sure you order the right weight or you'll end up with a expensive door stop. They came in perfect condition in what looks like a new casual package design.

I'll start from the end of the experience and go backwards to when I ordered the two hammers in September, series 35 and 55: Series 55 Thor kettlebell was delivered last week in pretty good shape, aside from a few dings and scrapes in the head of the hammer (I assume from weak shipping personnel unable to wield such power). Due to a manufacturing defect, the company, instead of sending out a sub-par product, waited for the remade castings to come in before shipping them to customers. Well done! Still waiting on the series 35 hammer though. Overall, great product and customer service

A good workout tool, finish is a bit thin an some wore off before I received it.
