The Thor Kettlebell Series 70 is a unique take on the kettlebell and I have had a lot of fun working out with it.
This is a review in two halves. In terms of the product, the 70lb hammer is just so cool. It’s heavy, really awkward to hold, humbles everyone because if you are normally able to press a 70lb dumbbell, this thing is so tough on the wrist, its flipping hard work / near impossible to press. I love it! I will confess that I was drawn to this as more of a fun item to have a laugh with friends and try the old ‘Are you worthy’ trick and it’s great for that. As a gym item, I won’t be using it in this way as I feel my normal gym equipment is more suitable. The other half of the review is really around the service and I hope this is taken in a constructive way. Before I placed my order I had read about the delays in shipment and so I was expecting to wait a few months. After I placed my order I asked what their expected delivery time would be, so my expectation could be managed from the start. I was expecting months but they said they had the 70lb dumbbell in stock and it would be shipped within the week. Happy days I though! I was getting excited. The week went by and I had not heard anything, so I checked in again. They said it would be shipped the following week. Ok I thought, they must be dealing with high demand. Another week went by and no information but this time I did not want to pester. I left it a further 3 weeks and then contacted again and suddenly shipping was arranged. I did not get a response from my email so I was not sure if they forgot about me or if I had become one of the dreaded ‘demanding customers’. Either way, all I am saying is that by over promising and under delivering, it left a sour taste with me. I would have much preferred it if they had said it would be a 6 week delay but it was delivered in 5 – over delivered! Please don’t be overly optimistic but be realistic from the start. Overall though, happy to support a small business run by ex-servicemen. Note: If you ever make a 100lb dumbbell, even as a one off special, I will buy one!
The product is deadlifts. I got the 70 lbs hammer so I'm not yet worthy as far as swinging this around like Thor, but it's great for squats, kettlebell and deadlifts.
Can’t do much with it but will work on it. It may be the coolest item in my home gym
It came well packaged and is a solid design. Would appreciate some more advice on movements with the heavier hammers on the youtube tutorials.
